So thursday i had a good friend said he found a big quietline cub and wanted me to go look at it. After driving about 6 miles from my house i came around the curve and behold a 1872. Looked it over real good. Kohler 18 magnum. 50c deck (rusted out and beat to crap). I called the number figureing it was going to be high priced and i wouldnt be able to get it. well after talking to him about it he bought it new and used it for years until last year when he got a zero turn hustler. i asked the price and asked if he would hold it until friday...he said no holds first come first serve, so i went to the bank got the money out and met him at subway to get it, told him take his time eating and i had to go get my trailer ready. after talking to him at his house for a little bit. he offered me a 1810 parts machine for 100 extra told him ill come back another day to get it. but he ended up giving all the service and owners manuals for it. had the steering column rebuilt a few years ago. ill try to get some pics up of it. ive got it apart cleaning the oil and grease build up off and working on the deck.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
