Aluminum oil pan torque spec
I have an aluminum pan on my K301 and need to know the proper torque spec. The service manual only mentions steel/cast iron. I know most of you frown on the aluminum pans but this one is still in great shape.
Appreciate any answers. Chris

The spec's in the manual are for whichever metal the bolts screw into and the size & strength/grade bolts used.
Making sure they are tight and stay tight is the important part, Especially in an aluminum pan used in a QL. I have opted to replace mine with cast iron pans.

Thanks fellas. That makes sense. Do either of you know when Kohler started using aluminum pans? This is on a service replacement engine in a 104.Thanks again.
