Default Finally got it home... 169... and a Gannon!!

I finally stumbled into a 169! Agreed to buy this thing about 6 weeks ago.. The guy offered to bring it to me next time he came this way so it took a little while. It had to be shuffled from Northwestern AL... I'm glad I waited because he ran across a Gannon Earthcavator in the meantime! I was able to swing a deal on both!

The 169 needs some love! It has been kinda pieced back together! At one time it was nothing but a donor. Most of the correct 169 parts were gone when the previous owner obtained it.. He was able to acquire some of it and reinstall but the rest will be up to me! But all things considered it is a decent tractor... I've drug home way worse!!

The Gannon was originally set up for a Massey Ferguson sleeve hitch... just so happens it fits a Brinly Cub sleeve hitch rather nicely.. so I will probably leave it alone rather than convert it to a Cub 3 point.. Will have to wait and see how it works..

I'm excited to get two hard to find items in one shot! This will be a long slow process... I know the 169 stuff is scarce and expensive.. I won't be able to do it all at one time!

I will get more pictures soon!!

Looks real good Jay, glad you found one. whats it missing? I see the stack so you'll be hunting the muffler and the heat shield? I'm sure you know the muffler is available, what else does it need? Air cleaner?

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
