There were some "2050670" 's also. I missed that.

As mentioned above, the #2 serial is out of range. Something wrong with that.

What about this serial number? I know it is damaged, but it looks like it says 7133??3 but that number is too long and too high to be the serial number, according to what I have seen. Thoughts?

I just moved this machine in to my garage where I will take the winter to restore it. I restored a 1450 3 years ago, but this beauty has a lot more promise, but is a lot rougher. It's a 1650 quiet line.

That number is specifically for the engine.

Cub Cadet Chassis Model/Serial numbers are totally different than Kohler Engine Model/Serial numbers.

What you have pictured is a Kohler Serial Number. From that number #71XXXXX indicates that engine was made in 1975.

Excellent. That is good to know. Thanks. Once I find the serial # on the chassis, I'll log it in this forum.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
