Default Model 105 information

Hi everyone,

A few months ago I was looking up information about a 1000 but decided against it (it's still sitting out in the elements). Here is that thread: http://www.onlycubcadets.net/forum/s...ad.php?t=43186

Went on Craigslist the other day and found a 105 about 5 minutes away from that one. Hoping to check it out in the coming days.

http://newlondon.craigslist.org/grd/5694482290.html

Was hoping that I could get a little guidance on this particular model before kicking the tires. I see that it's the 67-69 model with a 10hp Kohler. My yard is fairly big (takes about an hour and 45 to push-mow it) and hope that this wouldn't be too large for this model. Eventually would like to get a Peco or Trac-Vac system for it; does anyone know if that will be compatible with this mower deck?

Thanks,
Brian

An hour and 45 min to push mow, and your worried that might be too big a yard for a 105???

No. It's not too big, LMFAO.

Get a lawn sweeper. You don't have a big enough yard for a trac-vac.

Hey, somewhere I read on the Internet that the 105 was good for small yards! I'm supposed to believe everything on the Internet, aren't I?

Forget the 1000. Go buy the 105. Stop thinking about it and go do it before someone else gets to it. Even if you talk him down $50 it's a great deal. If it were my situation I would have had it home by now.

PS no such thing as "too big of yard." It just means more seat time.

Oh yes, the 1000 has been out of the picture for a few months now.

More seat time would be a hell of a lot better.

It is more for the fact that we have a crap-ton of oak and maple trees, and autumn is hell around here.

Went and saw it today. It started right up, took it for a spin and mowed great. Everything seemed to work but the lights. Loved the hydrostatic transmission. Going to tell him it's a done deal in the morning. Looking forward to my first IH product and hope to share stories and seek your advice for quite a while. Despite it being 47 years old, my goal is to make this a part of the family for a long time.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
