Well, I don't mean to be a d*** but if you had known what you were looking at you would have noticed that before you bought it.
![]() Yeah, you need a new clutch, and likely other related parts. |

looks like you'll be needing a 3 pin driver as well, i'd bet that the driveshaft and throwout bearing are toast or close to it.

It was going to the scrap yard, but I saved it. I'm trying to get it back to running order. The front pto had already been rebuilt. Its just gonna take time and money.

Then stop complaining it's taking money you don't have. If you can't afford to fix it, let it sit until you do. It's not a high priority.

Hydros don't have that problem. Sorry for your bad luck.
Consider it a project now. Whenever you save something from the junk yard it's usually going to be a project. Time and money are the ingredients. If you don't have one use the other. I've found complete units on Ebay before. Happy hunting or you could always take it back to the junk yard. Just another option.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
