Default 127 129 parts interchange

Is the engine and drive train the same? I have a 129 and a 127 came up for sale at a good price. I know the frame and mule drive are different.

Powertrain is the same, although the 129 may have a ported pump, and the 127 would not.

Hydro's and rear ends very, very seldom fail.

The shielding isn't the same. I mistakenly bought a muffler shield from a 147 for my 149.

Not sure what all parts you need, but I know at least the heat shielding around the top isn't the same.

Kohler changed the location of the spark plug in the head during the 1x8/9 series. If he changs the engine as an assembly, it won't be an issue. Or, you can just swap heads and tins. It's a very minor issue.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
