Default Engine sputters when warm

Just got my o running. New points and all that good stuff. Fires right up when cold. Tonight is the first ive really ran it. I drove it around town runs smooth. After a time around the block it died when i got home. Took a few pulls to start it(going to pull off starter this weekend) it finally starts. I drove ir around the block again and it was fine. And it started to spit and sputter again. I made it home and she died. I know gotta he fuel or spark. Any other ideas i can check.

Low voltage could be an issue but since you said you were able to restart it I doubt it's the issue, download the service manual and it will walk you through adjusting the carb.

Well i went out and pull started it 3 tries it wouldn't start. I hooked my trickle charger up and it starts first pull. Brand new battery. Wondering while i was driving jt around it had a low draw on it since the starter doesnt even turn it over. Thinkings it's causing it to die like it would a car with a bad alternator?

I had a 100 that didnt charge and I could go a few weeks of mowing before I needed to charge the battery, if your battery is new it should last a lot longer than around the block a time or two.

So, this engine has both a pull start and a starter? If so, then it is a magneto ignition. You may have a failing mag. Also, if it is a pull start, the generator will have nothing to do with the ignition (spark) as it has a magneto. All the S/G does is start the engine, and charge the battery. No other power is needed.

It could also need the carb adjusted as Tim pointed out, or it may need the fuel system cleaned.... could be slowly starving for fuel.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
