Default Cc 106

Second post on OCC here. 1st one is on the RER site.

Here are some pics of my CC 106 project (TOO many projects going on here - got a couple of Bolens ongoing too...). Picked this 106 up last fall - mowed with it once after repairing the mule drive. Should be good to go if I ever finish the restoration. Only a few mods to mention. The seat is obvious (I hated the old seat and had this pan seat laying around, sooooo...). Did some minor fiberglass repair to the dash and then changed it's color to yellow. I also relocated the ignition to the dash - very inconvenient where it was under the dash and there was an unused cigarette lighter hole, so I moved it there. Then I relocated the voltage regulator to the tool box area, as I am going to go with a stack exhaust and wanted the area in front of the engine clear for better cooling. Only thing I need to do now, other than reassembly and test firing, is to complete the rewiring. Fun project!

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
