Default Cub Cadet 73

I found this today on facebook. I was wondering if this was really a special edition tractor or just a cool thing somebody did. It would be something for me to look into, because I picked another 73 up about 2 weeks ago and this would be a fun build.

What is the "LT" for in your title?? 73 is a garden tractor...

Edit: Nevermind. I see it has a custom decal. What does it say? Can't see it.

Someone just painted it the way they wanted. No "special" 73's.

The 73 was the last of the economy line ones IH built with the 7hp engine and the 4th most rare model. Glad you posted this one. I had been considering painting the fenders on my 73 white.....now I can see how they look on someone else's tractor.

Yeah that's cool. Looks like a 71 style grill insert, bigger engine, like it

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
