Hey guys,
Working on a friends 102 that he uses to cut grass with and having an issue with the pto clutch, what happened is a couple months back we swapped engines due to excessive oil burning, and the new engine had a pto on it that hadn't been used in awile and had a bad center button so I took it all apart and cleaned it up and replaced the center button and I guess I didn't make one of the screws tight enough with the double nuts so not too long ago the nuts came off and it bent the screw and a plate so I replaced that and put it all back together but the pto does not disengage meaning the mower deck blades keep turning and won't shut off, any ideas? Also inside the pto clutch there is grind marks from the bearing, maybe the pto is bad? Thanks |

Not sure what you mean by "grind marks inside the pto".
Do you think the bearing is bad and not letting the pto set still when the lever is pulled back? The only other reason I can think of for the pto running all the time is that the screws are too tight.

The thin metal triangle that thrust button presses against is damaged on the inside Tried loosening screws but pto is flat in the front and has no spring tension to it. |

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
