149 stalling when PTO engaged
I just bought a cub 149 and ran perfect the first few times I mowed with it. Now once I use it I get like 5 minutes into mowing and it will start to spit and spudder then stall. Starts right back up and runs fine, but if I try to engage the pto to mow again it will start to stall again. Any thoughts on what the usual things that could cause this. I'm new to these tractors so wasn't sure if there is something specific it could be. Thanks in advance

John, there is no sediment bowl on a 149....
You should do as John said about flushing out the tank and carb,putting on a new pet cock with the screen,or a pet cock with no screen with the additional inline fuel filter will do the job.Pic of pet cock shown.... Keep us posted please.

Yes it seemed to start cause it had some gas in it when I bought it and when it ran out I went to fill it and noticed some crap in the tank. I pulled it off and completely cleaned everything out and put new gas in and that's when the problems seemed to have started. I didn't take the carb apart to clean that yet. I'll give that a try in the morning, put a new filter on and see if that helps
