Default Put the 1200 to the test

First, I want to say THANK YOU to everyone on this forum that has helped me diagnose and fix everything with my 1200 over the last few weeks. All the advice and input is greatly appreciated.

I finally closed on my land Thursday and went out today to test the 1200 out. The land hasn't been mowed all year and the 1200 handled it with ease. I've attached a few pics. I hope to get back out tomorrow morning to get some more knocked down. 80 degree weather, Cicadas crawling all over me and a nut falling off the clutch rod were enough for me to call it a day lol. I had to stay in first gear with the deck up all the way and take 2 passes to get it down, but slow and steady it is

Good grief! You need a brush hogg! Did a good job for two passes! Glad to see hear all is good with your 1200! I ordered parts yesterday, so they'll be here next week! All most everything in the drive area will be new except teaser spring and clutch spring. So that will probably break next!

LOL. Hopefully those hold out for you. Good luck with the rebuild.

Yeah, a brush hog would be ideal, but the 1200 seems to be handling it fine. Doesn't even bog down when I hit it. I'm too cheap to pay someone to cut it lol.

I'm impressed with how well it chews up the clippings too. I guess the 3 blades help with that, and I sharpened them real well too.

I once mowed grass taller than that with a 100, it took some time but it got the job done. It would have been real nice go have a creeper.

Agreed, sometimes I wish I could go just a bit slower in the tall stuff. Congrats on the 1200, looks like a nice machine! TB

Thanks twoton!

I'm eager to start doing some work. I didn't realize how much I actually enjoyed working outside in the open until this morning. Growing up it always seemed like such a chore. How things have changed. Much different feel working on 5 acres, v my lot in town.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
