Default Snow blade help 128

New to the forum here and cub cadet tractors. I recently purchased my grandfathers 128 and I'm wanting to locate/buy a snow blade attachment for it. I'm a little lost on exactly what I would need to look for to get the correct one. I have tried searching through the forum but have had little luck. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

First, welcome to OCC.......

The actual push blades are all the same except for size. There is 42" and 54". The subframes that mount the blade to the tractor are different. What you want is a Wide Frame (WF) subframe for your model.

Your 128 is a member of the "wide frame" family. Look for a snow blade that has a sub-frame/carriage that is curved on the end like the one shown in the photo (yellow).

For reference, a narrow frame sub-frame looks like this. It won't work on your 128.

Since it was brought up, in the Narrow Frame Arena, there are 3 versions for Subframes for push blades. None of them will work on you tractor.

Another component of the snow blade is the lift rod. For wide frames, the part number is 548-589 R1. It measures 28-1/2" center to center.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
