Pulled out of the garage and it just stopped moving.
I've done a bunch of electrical work on this, but never messed with the hydro stuff. Where should I start troubleshooting? Anything specific to look for? Thanks for any assistance! Dave |

I'm assuming that the engine is running but not 100 percent sure base on your post. So if the engine is running and it won't "Go" then is the transmission fluid full? If so when was the last time you changed the fluid and the filter? Report back and we can go from there.

Yep, engine is running.
Fluid and filter were last changed with Cub Cadet parts about 3 years ago. I mow about an acre with a CC 60C belly deck. Don't plow any snow or really run it at all outside of mowing season. |

With it running try the steering and the deck lift. Let us know if that works.

Thanks for the welcome. I'm in Meade county. It just started raining here so a driveline check will unfortunately have to wait until it quits.

First thing I would do is change the tranny fluid and filter. Good chance that you have a fair amount of condensation that settled to the bottom of the case then when you fired it up it got sucked up into the filter and plugged it.

Just thinking that if it does have a bunch of water in it by trying the steering and lift it will just push water into the steering and lift. I'd at least loosen the drain plug at the bottom of the case and see if water starts to seep out.

OK, I was finally able to mess with it again this evening. I started it up, let it run for 30 sec or so and was able to move forward and reverse. I'm not sure why It wouldn't move before. Of course the driveshaft was spinning, but there was hardly any steering and the deck lift was very slow until it warmed up some and even then it wasn't great. It might have got better if I had let it run longer. Those last two issues I had noticed towards the end of last year but figured it was because if was fall and the weather was cooling down.
Not sure what to do now. Fluid and filter change and see what happens? |

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
