Default How to repair 108 plastic cowl

The plastic cowl is worn where the rear of the hood sits on it. a couple areas are worn thru. it doesn't look like fiberglass. Has anyone repaired these and what kind of epoxy or filler do you use? I have done fiberglass repairs before but not sure if it will adhere to this.
Jim

You could try this. I works well on Cyclops plastic on the ones I've tried so far. You can even form it into any shape you want. It's almost the right color too.

It's fiberglass, you should be able to by resin to repair it at any paint supply store and most parts stores.

After I cleaner it up some I noticed some fibers sticking out and I wondered if it was fiberglass. That will be an easy fix then.
Thanks to all, Jim

I checked that website, That looks like fantastic stuff. I'm sure I'll find a use for it. The plastic knob on the mower lift stop is broken. I could make a mold and make a new knob

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
