Default Rite of Passage

Well my 7 year old is starting to get used to the Cub Cadet fun by taking his first ride around our neighborhood following me on the 104.

I also drove a tractor my 1st time when I was 7. I was on my dad's brand new Ford 2000 and a good thing the bush hog was on back, when I started to let out the clutch that new spring was a little strong for my leg to control and I popped my 1st tractor wheelie..... needless to say it wasa a few more months before I got my next opportunity even though the rest of the drive went fine. I also drove my dad's 71 lincoln town car when I was 7 ( I was always big for my age) and my dad actually let me drive it on the road! I'm not going to lay that much on Brian. Dad also put my older brother and me to work 40 hrs a week during the summer. I remember in his later years how he used to lecture me about working all the time, my reply always was "you created this monster it's too late now" haha

I know farm kids worked my dad grew up on a farm but I didn't he was a real estate invester as a sideline and owned a lot of rentals so we did it all as kids I painted my first building when I was 8 it was a duplex... had a great time doing it but it got to where it was another job real quick. I may be able to fix most anything and it saves me money on my own rentals but my hands are really screwed up I've had Carpal Tunnel surgery on my right hand ,which I wanted a local I remember the surgeon saying the carpal bones had totally crushed the nerves in my wrist, and they wanted to do the other in 6 weeks (May 2007) but still haven't because I still have involuntary movements where I can't pick up something or the hand releases what I'm holding. But I don't have the agonizing pain I used to. 1 doctor told me that he had never seen Carpal Tunnel so bad in someone my age (42 in 2007) I should have use my brains far more and my back far less.... That is what i'm going to instill in my kids.It is fun to give them these experiences though.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
