I'd offer $300. If he says no and you want it go up. Looks in good shape, but who knows about it just by a picture.

That is an IH built 782, not that they're any better than a CCC 782. If your getting a deck, blower and wheel weights, that is a great price. I bet he will take $400.

Those were the best that IH built but the engines can be a problem. If it has the original engine it is probably a series 1 KT and I think parts are NLA. Even if it has a series 1 engine I think it is still a good buy. Good luck and I hope you get it.

That's a great deal, better scarf it up, one that price wouldn't last long around my neck of the woods. I don't need one and I'd get it for that price. I gave $550 for mine with just a 38" deck but was in perfect original condition and was a one owner with a series II, don't mind saying what I paid for it as I'll never sell it.

Their rare around my area too. I was just saying off $300 cause I like a deal, but to me it's worth $400. A friend of mine has a 782. Think he has like 5 Cubs. An original, 1200, 1250, 782, and a newer one.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
