Been having some problems with the 126. Seems that when I turn right in second gear or above the pulley on the crank shifts back and grinds on a bolt on the block? I can post pics if need be....anyone heard of this before?

I've never heard of those symptoms caused by the actions you described before.
I can tell you that if it were my machine, I would immediately stop using it and get in there and find out what's going on. Doing a little work now may save you from removing the crank and trying to find someone to cut a new key-way in it later. A loose basket pulley may or may not be the problem but risking the key-way in a crankshaft is not a chance that I am willing to take.

Only thing I can think of is you have something very loose or broken that is allowing the engine or transmission to move. Transmission mounts, cracked frame etc. Time to stop and find out what is going on.

It's rubbing on the bolt that holds the starter/gen bracket in the pic. Not all the time - it seems to "shift". Taking it to the dealer Tuesday. Thought maybe slop in the crank bearings?

Too much, way too much, C/S end play??
is the bolt tight? too many/too thick a washer under the head of the bolt causing it to stick out too far? Is this a fresh engine assembly or did this just now start out of the blue? Loose PTO bearing/hub/pulley assly? Just a few of the thoughts that cross my mind. |

I had one that did that, the bolt kept coming loose so I eventually puuled everything off the front and put the bolt in with loctite.

We are the orig owners of the machine. The engine has never been apart and has been a problem as of recent. I am stumped
