My throwout bearing on my 104 finally took a dirt nap. I already had a broken teaser spring so now I have the 104 apart. I am replacing the throwout bearing, teaser spring, truing up the pressure plates, new clutch disc, and I am going to machine a new driveshaft for it. I was thinking of using stainless steel for the driveshaft, any recomendations? And for the clutch disc should i use a stock fiber one or upgrade to the aluminium disc? Tractor is used for mowing and snowplowing. Where is a good place to buy the spiral pins? My local autoparts store and Ace hardware dont have them, just regular roll pins.
Heres a few pitcures of the 104, one of it from last winter and the other two are tearing it down to do the clutch. I took off the rear sheet metal and pressure washed all the crud off it yeasterday.

For the driveshaft, I recommend you use 4140PHT as it is harder and tougher than stainless. The fiber clutch disc is best for a working tractor. The aluminum discs are meant for pullers. I get my spirol pins from the local hardware store. McMaster-Carr carries them.

I make driveshafts out of 4140 alloy steel. I can supply spirol pins too. I can also machine your clutch disks too.

Replaced the stock clutch disc in my 100 with a Vogel MFG. "High Performance Stock Replacement Disc" and like how well it's wearing. It's very much a worker tractor.

Update, I put the 104 back together earlier this week and got it setup with snow blade for the winter. The new clutch and drivershaft are working good, I used the tractor to pull my lawn sweeper to pick up leaves yesterday. now to do a tune up.

I bought the correct drive shaft pin replacement from a Case IH dealer, and after about 45 min of running it fell out. Put it back in, and it fell out again. Jeff in PA made me one with knurling in the center and (so far) no issues. I would buy from him again. Good products and reasonable prices.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
