Hey guys, I am a LOONNGG time lurker, but I havent posted here much (frequent MTF a lot). I recently bought a very rough, but low digit original that I have had in the corner of the shop for over a year, and decided its time for it to shine again! I completely tore down the transmission, it had one broken gear and all but the tapered roller bearings were bad. I found the gear I needed, and all bearings and springs and detents for the transmission and have it all together now. I ordered reduction housing bearings and the seal, but when they got here they are not correct. I have been digging and digging and am having trouble locating bearings. Now, my local bearing supplier said they can get the front reduction bearing, the old one says it is a Norma 6104, but CC lists it as NLA. I am hoping the bearing supplier can get it as they say, but I have had bad luck in the past, so we'll see.
Anyhow, I read on Brian ***** site that the 941-0361 bearing is correct, but yet CC lists it as NLA. Will this bearing work?? Thanks in advance guys... |

Nick, a 6104 bearing has an inside diameter of 20mm, outside diameter of 42mm and a thickness of 12mm. Is that what the 941-0361 measures?

Thanks for the reply!
I pulled these from another site: Precision, high-speed radial ball bearings for IH-built and MTD-built Cub Cadet cast iron and aluminum gear reduction housings with OEM and aftermarket overdrive input shaft/gears that require a .667" i.d. (17mm) i.d. bearing. Dimensions: .667" i.d. (17mm) x 1.575" o.d. x .470" height. (All ball bearings have always been made to the metric dimensions. The US and import manufacturers try to make them close to the inch dimensions as possible.) High quality aftermarket. Our part # 150233. $5.00 each, plus shipping & handling. OEM Cub Cadet part # 941-0361. $31.35 each, plus shipping & handling. ? What do you think? Looks close... |

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
