Are these bolts (some people call them Frankinstein bolts) supposed to be tight against the QA pulley mount? Mine have a 1/8" gap on them and the whole mount moves when the PTO is engaged.

Probably not completely, or you'd never get anything lined up well enough to attach to it.
FYI, frankenstein bolts are the bolts that are used to attach the upper 3-point casting to later QL and 82 series tractors. |

Pat:
The bolts in question, are kind of confusing. The bolts that hold the QA Mule Drive in place are called "Shoulder Bolts". ![]() The bolts that hold the Upper Link casting in place (QL & 82 Series) is called a "Stud Bolt" but sometimes referred to as "Frankenstein Bolts" ![]() Once you study the images, you can see the difference.

The shoulder bolts on my 126 have a big flat washer near the frame. If someone put yours back together w/o the washers you might have a bit more play than desired.

I have the washers, but they don't fit on the shoulder.
I have seen these bolts listed on ebay as Frankinstein bolts.

The images I have posted are correct. If someone on Ebay displays otherwise, then they are not well informed...:biggrin2.gif:
The washer do NOT go on the shoulder portion of the bolt. The washers go on the threaded portion.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
