Default The "last" IH cub cadet built

if you could find the last Cub Cadet built by IH what would it be worth? guys always seam to search for the lowest serial number. I've never heard much discussion on the last one.

According to the documents I have, the last IH serial number was 693143 but it doesn't say what model of the 82 Series Garden Tractor it was attached to.

If I were to guess..........the 782 was probably the most popular of the 82 series GT's.

some time back i researched this subject. i found out that the last IH Cub Cadet was sent to Charlotte NC. this was told to me by a guy in Denton NC . he had the guys name and number and said it was for sale with a letter from the dealer that it was for sure the last cub cadet from IH. i gave the man a call and he told me that it had been in a barn fire two weeks before but it was still fixable but he still wanted 1000 dollars for it. it was in pretty bad shape but still there. but i thought that was to much money and passed on it.i never did find out where it went from there . but i have always wondered about it .he said the paper work was worth what he was asking for it i did not think so. found this chart, http://www.oldengine.org/members/mur...b_cadet_sn.htm

the last numbers for each model at the bottom shows numbers higher than 693143, could that have been the first built in the month? 694248 was a 782 and shown as the last one?

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
