Just a little reminder as we all start our spring season to practice good safety tips while operating our machines. A teenager just died over the weekend when he was working on his mower and his clothing got pulled into the pulleys. I do not know the full details, but really it does not matter--a life was still lost and we should always practice good safety. I know the debate comes up as to how old a child should be before riding along with us or operating himself/herself, etc...but I want to extend beyond that and ask that members consider things like flying rocks with family, friends and pets outside; safety glasses for ricocheting rocks/debris against trees and barns (I personally had a wake up call on that with a rock against my barn), wearing or having cover from the sun (like a sunshade or wearing a straw hat--I wear a straw hat to cover my head after seeing my neighbor have the top part of his ear removed from skin cancer); and even remembering to lock the brake when parking a cub on top of a hill with automatic relief valves or leaving the keys in the cub to step inside for a moment and curious kids in the neighborhood (or our own children). I always try to remember to ask myself, "What's the worst that could happen?". Ok, off my soapbox. Thanks for considering my comment. Here's to a safe season for everyone

Appreciate you taking to make an
![]() and bringing awareness to the subject. People complain when we talk about too much about safety... But I feel we can NEVER talk too much about saving lives!

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
