Default 1250 hydro

How much is a 1250 hydro worth, it doesn't run, has a snow blower, in pretty good shape (I think).

It's a small engine repair shop that's selling it. They are asking $400

I see your new here. If I haven't welcomed you then:

You seem to be asking a lot of "what is it worth" questions. Those are kind of frustrating..... here's why: Just like buying anything, there are too many factors to consider.

Here's a few:
~Condition (paint, dent's, tires, etc. etc...)
~Running/non-running. May have just quit, may have been sitting years. Or, maybe it runs...
~Location. This is a big one. In PA and NJ, Cubs are cheap. In TX, they are worth a little more. Harder to find them that far west of the Mississippi.
~Your ability. Hey, if you can fix stuff, then you may be willing to pay a little more because you may be able to figure out what's wrong quick. Maybe your ability is next to zero and your going to have to pay for a lot of the repairs..... this part is up to you.

So, when you ask how much something is worth, at least have some pictures for us to go off of, and maybe a location or what they are asking. If you have something you want to sell, we'd appreciate it if you don't try to get us to price your items. We don't mind to help you out, but it does grow somewhat tiresome and frustrating answering "what is it worth" posts without any info or pictures. It's not like we have a "blue book" that we follow the dotted line to a price on these...... Some of us will pay 3X what another will pay for the same machine. Don't mean to sound like I'm coming down on you or anything..... just trying to help integrate you to the site and the process.

For the machine you stated, that may in fact be a good price. But, we need pics to say for sure.

My first question would be: If it's at a small engine shop, why don't they fix it themselves and make it more salable or make more money for themselves from it's sale?

I've been on here for a little while now so I do know what I'm doing. I have 3 narrow frame cubs but the problem is that I got one for $50 and one for free the other for 200, so I haven't really paid for one at value price. I just don't really know the values. I also have only seen one wf cub so I don't really know much about those either.

I was told that hydro's were worth less though because so many people are using gear drives for pullers

I do try to post pics as much as possible for a better idea if what I'm talking about. Sometimes I don't have any

If it runs and looks decent, I would say that's a decent price anywhere. Location is key tho. In my neck of the woods everything is expensive, except gas.

Edit: missed doesn't run. Offer him half that, or make it run, no smoke, $400 ok

I don't know if you realize it or not, but you just contradicted yourself......

And I'm saying that what you were told is not true.

I'm not so sure it isn't opposite of that. Depends on the model.....

800's and 126's can bring a lot. 1250's and 125's usually don't bring that much. 782's usually bring a decent amount..... 982's bring a lot. "O"s, 7X's and the 100's usually go pretty cheap. See what I'mean.....

Like Jon said location is a big factor, hydro's are next to worthless in my area but geardrives sell as fast as I list them. Now to answer your question without pics I'd have to say $350 would be max and that's only because the snow thrower is worth $250 if its in good shape and works. I hate buying tractors that don't run especially hydro's as there's no way to test the trans or the lift if it has one so you never know what your getting.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
