Talking Wheel weights

Hi all,

I have a '76 Cub Cadet 1200. I was looking where I could buy some wheel weights . I saw some home made ones on here and their pretty cool ideas . I'm pretty handy but rather just buy ones that bolt right on . I did some searching on the net and didn't find much I liked . Any web sites or part numbers would be great . Hi from Pittsburgh PA !

Post an ad in the wanted section. We do have some members that have more than a few set's of weights.

If you are not particular, a lot of Garden Tractors use a 12" wheel rim for their rear wheels. Thus, many different brands will bolt onto a Cub Cadet rim. For example, I bought a pair of 75# Wheel Horse weights and painted them IH red for my 784. Works just fine.

True IH weights can be on the expensive side.

Their rare as hens teeth around here and there when you do find them usually $125 to 175 around here. I have two sets of wheel weights for the front IH 16" wheels , may make something to adapt them. Also have 5 100lb suitcase IH weights, one of them and two 50lb wheel weights are hanging from my top link bracket.

Steiner Tractor Parts sells a weight that is for the front wheel of a Farmall Cub. I understand that is the same weight that is used for the rear wheels of an IH Cub Cadet.

I don't know the price.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
