I have a chance to pick in a beautiful 1811 with a rebuilt engine in it, the guy that built it didn't replace the governor and now its having some issues. My question is how far apart do the twins have to come to replace the governor? I've never messed with one of these twins and I just wanna be sure what I'm getting into before I make a deal.

It runs wild with no controllability from the throttle. I'm not sure of anything but just wanted to know about the worst case scenario.

Thanks for the info. I'm really hoping to get this tractor as its in beautiful condition and it currently sitting at a friends house that has over 200 cubs that he sells parts off of, its just way to nice to turn into a parts tractor over something like a bad governor.

I had a Mag18 that the gov took a dump but it punch a hole in the block. Engine still ran good but as with the one your talking about you couldn't control the RPM's.

I didn't open the engine, my guess is one of the flyweights did the damage. Probably just happened to end up in a place the 2 things couldn't fit at the same time. Only way I could control the RPM's was to pull the choke. Repowered that tractor with a CH22.
