Just wondering why you have to state a "way of contact" in the for sale section and the other two. Everyone has a PM and when PM is sent a email is sent to your email on file. "At least for me anyway". I just see members not putting contact in ad and the admin having to post on ad saying read rules or what ever. Again just wondering why.

You can change the setting to include or not to include a copy of a PM sent to your email. It defaults that way, but it can be changed. Because there are several people who join just to sell stuff and never check in, or don't know how to check in is the biggest reason. Also, some people would prefer a text or even a email to their personal email. There are several times when someone has something for sale that people send them PM's with no response. With the seller posting their preferred method of contact, there should be no excuse for not getting responses. All the rules in the "Trading post" just eliminate confusion and problems. Hope this answer helps.

I was going to say, "Because we say so" but I didn't think a "Dad" answer was sufficient. LOL.

Thanks. Didn't know that could be turned off on pm's. Maybe that should not be able to be turned off so you guys don't have to say it at least once a day. But I guess there would be no policing job to be done. Mean really if they had a preferred method they would have put it in there.
And this rule should apply to everyone and not let your favorites slide by. Good chance it took away from the sponsors. No Commercial or Business related listings. This section is intended for private and sponsor listings only |

That is a good point and no, not everyone had seen that add, me being one. Thanks for bringing it up. Also there is never any intentional good ole boy rules. We don't see or catch everything posted here, but we try. We do however rely on members to give us a heads up on anything that seems out of order.

There are a few members here, that have small Cub Cadet businesses that post all the time in the For Sale section, yet I here no complaints about them. Charlie Proctor comes here once in a blue moon, and the fur flies......????????

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
