Best bet is to go to the Technical library sections and download the user manuals for your tractor and your mower deck.

Deck removal involves pulling the support pins at the rear edge of the deck, that drops the rear of the deck from the support frame. Slide the deck forward and the front will drop off the support frame. Remove the belt by releasing the PTO operating lever, and pulling the belt out. Reinstall the PTO lever linkage.
Release the mule drive from the front of the tractor by pushing the latching bail, then pull the mule drive off. Remove the deck support frame by pulling the pair of hairpins that hold the frame to the lift rockshaft arms. pull the frame out.

Its quite simple, just a little hard to explain., You need to get down on your knees and figure it out.

Installing the lift is a little more involved. Again, there are instructions in the user/chassis manual. Do you have all the parts for the rear 3 pt. lift? The lift actuator bar runs inside the frame from the lift casting at the rear to the rockshaft. check out this thread: http://www.onlycubcadets.net/forum/s...highlight=lift

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
