How good are the Original's at plowing? I'd like to get an Original and a plow in the future and wondered if anyone has tried that set up. Does the drive train slip at the belt, how much, if at all?
thanks

I am going to say that they do not slip if all components are adjusted properly. I have seen many O's at plow days pulling land plows and keeping up with the bigger HP tractors. Whether it be a land plow or a snow blade they do just fine. Traction would be the issue if anything. Enough weight on the rear tires and you are good to go.

^ X2. I tried to snow plow with one of my originals, turf tires no extra weight. It did not work well, no belt slippage but I could not get enough traction to move much snow. If you attempt plowing weight it heavy and chain up.

I've pushed snow with the blade on my O for a few years. It was my only snow removal machine for a while, and it works great. I have chains and weight in the box on the back and I was able to build 3-4' high piles of snow. The only belt slippage I've had is from trying to move too much snow...let's just say I was not using the proper plowing technique at the time. For normal snow removal the belt is a non-issue.

I was talking about plowing- like dirt mould board plowing, not moving snow with a blade.

Like I said in my previous post I have witnessed many O's pulling land plows with no problem what so ever.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
