I was researching the pto to tiller belt for my 105 and liked to fell out when I saw what Cub Cadet wanted. $100.00. Do you have any suggestions for a source without sacrificing quality? I've replaced the belts on my non cub ZTR before with hardware store belts and with OEM belts. Huge difference in quality. Is that the case here also? Thanks.

Get ready..... this is a big debate on here.
![]() This is all I will say. I use Gates belts. Have one on my tiller drive. Paid around $65 for it. Will other belts besides CC ones work.... sure. Do they last? Sadly no. If you try any other belt other than the OEM one, I suggest a Gates. Otherwise, CC only. Yep, they're expensive. But it will last YEARS. Broken down by year, it's not really that expensive. Suck it up and get ready to drop some cash. No matter what, a GOOD belt that size is gonna cost $$$. |

Same thing happened to me when pricing the tiller belt. Check out vbelts4less.com I got mine think was around 150" for about $30 shipped, and have been very happy with it's operation. I have taken it to buddies gardens with rocky soil and performs flawless

The main problem with cheap belts is keeping them tight and in line. They are softer and stretch more. and good luck finding 7/16 and 13/32 wide belts.

I have four seasons on those NAPA belts and they are holding up well. Plenty of rocks dug up too. |

I'm glad that 3Vx530 works for you. I tried one and it kept twisting. that's a 1/2" belt with the wrong angle on it. supposed to be IH-62235-C1: BELT-V 13/32 X 53"

You could probably do better than $100 for the OEM belt. I bought one for the wide frame for $85.00 from Marlin at Cub Cadet Warehouse. I believe he has the one for the narrow frame too; part # IH 487045 R2.
He charges $10 flat for shipping, so that's something to think about as well.

I have had no luck with gates belts. Shredded them. However the belts at Tractor Supply work for me very well. Three seasons on them so far. Do what you want I'll keep doin it the way I want.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
