Default Hello from CT

Hi Mike here,

I got several CC's. 127, 129, 1200, & 1650. Seems like great place for info. Here's the trouble, on the 1650 I changed case gasket on hydro drive, now it won't move or power lift. Has fluid flowing into sump from input shaft, took out again to make sure put rite inside. All lined up (valve plate on pins). Now fluid flowing up and out suction tube. Is the gear set directional and or the pump cover ?? Help it is going to snow soon and is necessary to clear driveway. BTW I'm a service tech for mechanical company, but I may have screwed up. Is it possible to mess up this way. This worked fine just leaked fluid before now broken. Seems the gear set is eccentric and could be bass akwards. Please help covered in hydro fluid. The learning curve is steep in this area, any info greatly welcomed.

First Welcome to OCC from a former CT resident.

Sounds like you have the charge pump turned 180 degrees. The charge pump has a flat on one side next to the blot that holds it onto the main case. The flat goes to the right side as your sitting on the tractor. First pic shows the flat.

So did you get it running correctly? Hope this fixed your problem. Just a FYI the Library has a ton of tech stuff on how to fix these critters. Holler if we can help. Where in CT do you live? I used to live in Watertown.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
