I recently acquired a Q42 for a narrow frame, but I have a wide frame. It doesn't look to be adjustable, can I find a WF mount for it, or do I have to choose between flipping it for another and modifying it? Pics:

What wide frame do you plan on putting it on?
![]() Either way, all you should need to do is swap out the lift arms for ones with bends in there. You could post in the wanted section here for them or offer yours for trade with someone who needs the arms you have. Just FYI, the only reason you need to swap arms is so they don't bump into your grill when you raise it up. And depending on what wide frame you want to put it on, you may need to swap the pulley. If it's an 82 series or above, you'll need a 5/8 pulley. If it's a Quietline or earlier, you'll be good to go. ![]() Edit: Nice find, btw. Looks like it's in good shape, and even has the fingers with it!

Thanks for the info, It's a QL. Blower came off a 147, or is it a thrower, I can't remember. I'll post in the wanted section in a bit. The arms are physically too narrow to fit on the tractor.

It's off a narrow frame, I can't remember the numbers but I measured the mounts and the frame of my tractor and it was significantly different.

The thrower it self are the same between QA42 & QA42A. The difference is in the mount. QA42 is strictly a NF application while the QA42A will work on both NF & WF tractors.

Thanks guys. If no one has an adaptable mount I'll sell it off and find another alternative.

The "A" in QA42A stands for "adjustable" or "adaptable".

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
