New here, been lurking around since I got my cub last winter. I wanted to paint it up nice. I found a complete 129, needed an overhaul. I found out that the 12hp was actually a 10 horse when I measured it out. Regardless I rebuilt the k241. I painted it up, still have some work to to do but here is what I have so far.

Nicely done.
I painted my 129 to look like a 66 series. Are you going for the clone look complete with grill or just the red and white paint scheme?

I will do the grill later on this winter. I just bought a house so the tractor will be on the back burner for awhile. I am planning on doing something similar to your grill.

I used caseIH enamel for the paint. From previous experience I was not pleased with VanSickle or Majic. It cost some more but it is well worth it knowing it will not fade out in a few years.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
