Since the 582 is a gear drive and not a hydrostat, you will have to get an auxillary hydraulic pump. You should be able to get the hydraulic system off a 782, 1811, or 1711. Probably others. Just get the system from a tractor that someone is parting out. Get a pump from northern tool or wherever. Also going to have a tank. There might be some things I'm missing. I don't think it will be cheap to do this.
EDIT: If you're wanting the hydraulic lift, you're probably wanting the rear lift. You didn't say. You're going to need the sleeve hitch set up, or a cat 0 3 point. From what you're talking about using it for, I don't think you're just talking about the deck lift. |

You don't need a tank, you can use the trans as the reservoir. A small pump from Northern or from Surplus Center is a good choice (like Brent stated). How you drive it..... now that's another story.
This is most likely the best way. gd1.jpg gd2.jpg gd3.jpg |

Would you just tap holes in the trans case or are there some already available that could be used?
Also, where did you get those pics. That looks like a super clean way to add an auxiliary hydraulic pump. |

Yes, there is a thread.... Here.
I wish it was on here, but it isn't. Brent, you can use the hole in the bottom as the suction (drain hole) and either add the return in the top, or use a top cover off a Lo-Boy. Look the thread over, this guy did an awesome job. I wouldn't use this set-up for a loader, but that's my opinion. I think it would be really slow. Plenty of pressure, just not a lot of flow. If I was doing a loader, I'd use a lot bigger of a pump. More than likely ran off the front PTO. |

Didnt think of pump size but id imagine it wouldnt be hard to modify it a little to get a bigger pump in there. I just dont like the idea of the mule drive mounted pump. Ya never know what else I might decide I want to run off the pto. Thanks for the link ill check it out

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
