I saw an 1100 sitting at a repair shop (outside of course). Where it was I couldn't do a thorough inspection, but it looks like much of the frame/chassis is the same as the rest of the Q/L series. It could be had cheap, but I'm not sure it's worth the effort to retrieve it. Thoughts? (it has a different drive train and a B&S engine). I might go get it just for parts.
I can't help but wonder, what were they thinking??

The 1100 is a fairly rare tractor, because they were built with the B&S engine and I believe a peerless transaxle. I know there is more to be said that's about all I know about them. I would like to have one they are kinda neat.

Agreed, there was a member on here that redid one, interesting that they changed it so drastically just for this model of a certain series. I'm sure there are haters because of it but I too think it is unique. Did they use the ISP mount/cradle for those as well?
![]() Go get it dad, I'm sure it has some value even for parts for your 1000 if it needs any?

SOME...........view the 1100 as a "frankencub". It is classified as a Garden Tractor but has the components of a Lawn Tractor.
If one is looking for a true garden tractor, this isn't your model. IF...you are looking for a Lawn Tractor, this is probably the best built LT you will ever buy.

The cub cadet book I have says it has a built-in creeper and four forward speeds gearbox. Of course, it has some sort of belt/clutch arrangement.

I could be incorrect, but isn't the 82 Series 482 IH Cub Cadet the same set up? Probably an attempt by IH to have a "economy" tractor resulted in the 1100, and 482.
Not a bad pick up, I'd hold on to it if it were me!

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
