Default Lift knob spacer for SGT front blades?

Since I haven't had my new to me Haban blade on my 2072 yet, I don't know the answer to this. What is the purpose of the lift knob spacer? I don't think I got it with my blade. I didn't even know about it until I got home and was reading the manual.

It's #48 here.

Thanks,
Geoffrey

I don't know that mine has one but then again i can't tell where that goes by the picture. I did some looking previously and it seems that there are two different styles (pre/post 1991) of these 54" Haban blades. Maybe take a look here to see: http://www.partstree.com/parts/?lc=c...%22+Snow+Blade

I was hoping someone would have the cross shaft support strap (part no. HA-14297) #43 on your diagram. There was talk of folks making them or posting dimensions a while back. If anyone has one and could post some detailed dimensions or wanted to get the dimensions to Jeff to make that would be much appreciated.

To clarify a little, it looks to just be a metal ring that fits between the stop cam and the adjustment knob for some reason or another.

I think the post '91 models may not have this because the later Cyclops tractors didn't have the depth stop cam, but had the adjustment at the rear of the frame.

I did get the support strap with mine. I didn't know about it either until Timbo told be about it today when I picked up the blade. It sounds like a lot of people don't know about them and was kind of thinking about having some made.

Since it's on page 8A and not 8 or 9 my guess is that something broke when it wasn't on there, especially seeing that the other item on page 8A is the support strap. I have a post 91 Haban that came on a buddy's 2284 on my 2072.

Looks like a small piece of pipe could easily work but i'm not sure what the function is either. Maybe the knob loosens up or gets chewed up? My knob is frozen up (and i haven't sprayed enough squirrel piss on it to loosen it up) so i've never adjusted the lift knob nor have i paid attention if there is this spacer on there.

Please let me know if you have some of the support straps made or can get dimensions to me. I know about them but i don't have one or know where i can get one.

Thanks,
-Levi

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
