i picked up a 54" haban front blade with my 2072 a little bit ago. i see it has a spot for hydraulic angle, but no cylinder. judging by how hard the cylinders from the IH blades are to come by, im guessing its basically the same difficulty for the Haban as well. my question is if anyone has made their own power angle on one of these blades using an aftermarket cylinder. any help would be appreciated. thanks

Yep,
The Haban blade takes the same late Cub Cadet front angle kit with the larger cylinder. I just sold a NOS one a week ago....... I remember reading somewhere a cub nut used a different cylinder and modified it to work. You'll have to search the archives.

Did you ever find a replacement cylinder? I am in the same boat and looking for measurements / specifications of the original cylinder so I can find an aftermarket one.

If there was an exact fit aftermarket, we would know about it. There isn't. Close seconds...... but not exact replicas.
Here's what you do: Take a look at the mounts that the angle package uses. Take a rough guess at where that point would be on the blade frame, and moldboard. Angle the blade all the way one way and take a measurement. Angle the blade all the way the other way and take a measurement. This will give you a pretty good idea how long of a stroke you need. The cylinder size is not really that important. At least 1.5" bore would be fine. Once you get a cylinder, fab the mounts and location to fit that cylinder. Easy peezy. A QL cylinder is very close to the same cylinder as the angle cylinder. A power steering cylinder (cub cadet/john deere) is very close to the same cylinder as the angle cylinder. Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
