Default Testing a 15 amp stator
I was looking in the tech library on how to test a 15 amp stator. I see that specs are .064 to .096 ohms . Is that bench testing or does it have to be tested while in operation?

Bench testing. I wouldn't suggest touching the leads when it's running. It puts out AC power.

Not to say you can't test the AC output..... just be careful. But, seriously, OHM checking is for when it's off.

Also, the test in the library specifically says "static test" which means, "not running".

yea you gotta be careful with ac power, i watched my cousin get lit up one time testing a stator.

You NEVER check resistance (ohms) while under load or in operation.

Yes, your meter will get mad at you when you do that and might make you change it's fuse

Page 8.14 of the "Kohler Single Cylinder service manual" does a very god job of describing how to troubleshoot and test a 15 amp battery charging system.
