Well seeing as how my first tractor was a green machine, it only lasted me maybe a month before I got RID of it, and there were no pics, it didn't happen! So, my first Cub was a 1330, ended up selling it to a friend who still uses it to this day. Good machine!

It's funny mine was a low end 1420 lawn tractor from that series too.

Wish I had a pic of my first cub. Somewhere there may be one, but my ex-wife would probably have it. First cub I owned was a 127. Still looking for one as nice as the one I had. Wish I could find it and get it back. I bought it for $300 not running from my boss at the first IH dealer I worked at. Fixed it up and used it for about a year, then traded it at the cub dealer for my 1811. He gave me $500 trade in on it!! Outside of that one, we had a 782 and a 71 growing up. Still have the 71. Sitting in my storage shed waiting it's turn for restoration. I was supposed to have already started on it. Granddad keeps asking when his "mower" is going to be done.

Here's what got me started:

Dad's 125. I'm approx. 28 years older and look a bit different, but the 125 looks pretty much the same. She's been through 3 or 4 engine rebuilds and a few different 48" decks/rebuilds, and has headlights, but dad still uses it. I knew once I moved out on my own I'd have to get something similar, AKA the 147.

PS the pets are gone, the truck was my first driver traded in for what I have now, and the H is still pushing snow in the winter. All the junk in the far background is the neighbors.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
