Default 129 Pics

Hey everyone. A few days ago I joined this forum and mentioned that I have a 129. Here are a few pics of the ole girl. She's a little rough but in running condition. I thought for free (that's right, FREE) it was worth picking up. She runs like a top. If you notice in the pics, the S/G has been replaced with a gear starter and the flywheel and shroud have been replaced accordingly with a stator under the flywheel. The VR is still there, but a jumper wire has been put across two terminals and the newer solid state regulator installed. At this point I don't intend to change any of that back. Since I've gotten it I have purchased a battery for about $35.00, rebuilt the steering gear for about $6o.00 and installed tubes in rear tires for about $20.00. So I am using it for about $115.00. I actually just finished spraying my yard with it. It certainly needs some TLC. I want to strip it down to the frame and do a total rebuild/repaint. It has the hydraulic lift option, and I would love to find a 3 point lift system for it for not too much dough. I do have a 48" deck for it as well that is not pictured. It also needs some work done to it. Money and time are limiting factors right now, so I'm not sure how soon all this will take place, but I will try to keep everyone posted.

As Alvy posted, copy the IMG links directly from photobucket. Always preview your own posts before hitting "summit reply" to make sure it works correctly.

I found out that I had a wrong setting with photobucket not allowing me to share IMG code. Got that fixed and now.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
