Default The 1650 basket case project.

this is the 1650 I was going to stretch to a dump bed. I desided to keep it stock. so here it is. its getting there, slowly ...
tonight I got the white bits DA'ed ,decals striped and will blast um later this week. I painted the frame 2 weeks ago. Im just using the TSC oil paint. not rattle cans.

Great start on another one Doug. Can't wait to see your work once again! Will this be a keeper or a flipper?

Ive sold a few , and took a hit on all of them. cub still arnt hard to find,YET... but will be some day soon. and finding one that hasnt been thrashed or trashed , thats getting hard. finding that 70 was a big score last week. it runs good, and has all its correct parts still on it.

One of my first was a 1650 that was given to me. Runs great, no smoke but needs isolators and hydro fan. Also the tin ware around the muffler is missing. Has a great deck under it. I will eventually get to it. The trundle is bad also.

Yours looks like it getting the treatment it deserves.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
