Default One more for my fix, a 126

Well in my quest to find the rarest cubs I came across this pretty clean, local to me, 126. Has some bad PO mods including bad paint job, blinged out rims, wrong size tire and mismatched rims, crazy relocated automotive battery in the storage tray (which also had wooden spacers under seat frame, I'm assuming to not short out battery, ugh), and a craftsman seat cover. But........it was just bought from the original owner who had it since 69', looks to be garage kept for the most part, no rust except for some surface here and there. No options but did come with 48" deck. Deck isn't great because Florida sand really eats decks for lunch, even rugged IH ones after 40 plus years but that's to be expected. It was bought about 30 miles away in Plant City when new. I've removed the battery stuff, cables, freed up frozen choke cable and reinstalled, and took off a big homemade ball receiver. All the foot plate screws came right off, finally, a southern cub that comes apart like one, no torch needed, no PB blaster, I'm happy overall, really liking these gear drive cubs lately, the 12 horse combined with it is awesome. Here's a couple pics.

The 126 is a great tractor and despite what you stated, it appears to be in very good shape--certainly a whole lot better than my 126 when I found it!!
Congratulations on your newest adddition.

And a original owner purchase.!! l forget how many of the 126's I've owned, but yours is one of the most rust free one around.
Nice score Alvy

Very nice tractor. I've got one, mine has headlights and I think they make the tractor look very nice. If you can find a set - you might consider adding them.

Congrats! Doesn't look that bad, but granted, it's blinged up somewhat with those wheels.

Thanks guys. Seems like I'm getting a little picky these days. Isn't it amazing though what people do to "improve" or "modify" these things. Lets not find someone to properly troubleshoot why its not charging an battery dies, lets chop enormous holes in the fenders and run 5 foot cables through them with no grommets to a group 52 battery under the seat thats too tall so we have to shim the seat with 1 by threes, i love it, talk about a fire hazard!

Again, thanks for the comments, I like having one that's been stored inside most of its life, I'm getting spoiled. Payed a little more for it at $350 but its pretty sweet.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
