Does anybody know where the correct placement for the two (2) O-rings go for the oil filler cap on a 2084, 20hp Kohler?
Parts tree is showing one for the filler neck and one for the cap. I currently have just one inside the cap but it may not be correct because the valve cover is always covered in an oil mist. I'm not sure of the placement on the filler neck. Does the cap seal against it and the valve cover when it is tightened? Thanks. |

This is a new one on me, I'll take a look tomorrow at the CH22 that I have but I think it only has 1 O-ring and it's on the cap.

Yes, partstree showed two different part numbers for # 3 and #8 and called them by different names so I'm guessing there should be 2 O-rings to seal the oil fill cap of which I only have the one in the cap which lets out an oil mist covering the valve cover.
The engine has 1050 hrs. on it and is getting a little tired and that might be the cause of the blow-by out the cap but I would like to make sure I have the correct O-rings on it too. Thanks. |
