Default Help please!!!

I have a 1250 Cub Cadet and I restored it, and I'm putting it back together. And on the clutch there are some linkages. 1 goes to the transmission pump and the other one goes to a lever on the transmission. And when I try and push the clutch it doesn't go down like its locked up. So is it not supposed to go down when its not running or is it just locked up. And if so how do I fix it. I don't want to push the clutch to hard because the lever that the linkage goes too is cast iron. Please respond Thanks.

you sure its not stuck from paint? does the pedal move free when the rods are unhooked?

Maybe someone close to you would let you view there tractor assembled?
Looks like you have done a good job on the restoration. If the rest of the tractor looks this good, it will be real nice.
Do you have a Cub dealer near by? There service manuals could help too.
Regards,
Chris

very nice resto so far, and best of luck with the pedal issue. Hopefully it's figured out relatively soon and without any issue.

On an unrelated note:
you should not have any paint on the fins of the hydro pump. It needs to be as cool as possible and paint doesn't help here.

Good looking machine so far.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
