How many "confirmed" hours do you have on your Cubs?
Was thinking about how long these Cubs/engines can last lately and it got me to wondering; how many hours are "average" for older Cubs? I'm thinking around 1995 or so and older (before they started getting all super-slanty on the hoods). I know the older Cubs don't have hour gauges but for those Cubs that do, what's the highest reading you've ever had or come across? And I also ask that if any major engine work has been done, including replacing it or rebuilding it, please note that! Routine maintenance such as points, carb rebuilding, caps, etc don't count. Also, what engine was in the high hour Cub would be cool to know, too

I bought a 1710 in the fall for the engine and the meter said 1952 and it wasn't wired up anymore. Tractor was rough but ran good. Had a series II KT in it but I don't know any of its history obviously.

I own an early CCC 782 that has 2990 hours on a working hour meter. PO confirmed the hours. It had a series I KT-17 engine in it and was replaced with a series II with the oil pump. The tractor still works great, motor runs strong. Its amazing the hours these can rack up.

My 1872 has over 1200 hours on it. I can't read the hour meter on my 782, because the lens is foggy.

My 1811 has just over 1800 Hrs. It got a new motor at 1175.
We had a 782 growing up. When we got rid of it it had over 3000 on it. Dad and I overhauled the KT17 in it once. Then replaced it with a KT17 II.

My old 782 had 1785 hours on it when I sold it, with the kt17 series II in it. The 782 I had before that had 29** hours on it, on a replaced magnum 18 motor. My 2072 I had had 1572 hours before the connecting rod broke. I put a magnum 18 that had close to 400 hours on it from a working meter 1862.

I think my current highest houred cub is the 1572 at 1200 hours. And as Todd stated, the Kubota's still purring along, even though it's not at 3200 hours yet.........
