Well with my original restoration only waiting on getting some paint sprayed on the seat hood and engine I'm already looking for another project. Any ideas from anyone? Was almost thinking of a 100 loaded with hydrolics for running a log splitter and a few other things. What are yalls ideas

Get one of these, paint it yellow, add a clutch to the flywheel, connect it to the 100 transaxle with a U-joint.
![]() Figure out the shift linkage. You will have the first articulated, gear drive, 4 wheel drive Cub Cadet, with a 1000 RPM front PTO.

You could do what I'm doing. Search through a scrap yard and save a IH Cub Cadet, see how much "know-how" you have instead of money to get it running. That is if there happened to be such tractor in scrap yard. I'm finding that my scrap yard IH Cub Cadet 1250 is almost as fun as my 72 restoration project, and keeping the 71 clean and running good!
You could always try to sell your tractor to someone who might not be able to do the required work, and don't have tools, ect. .

Wow I forgot all about this threar. And I've been there and done that with the scrapyard projects.. in fact I still have one sitting in my backyard that is waiting on me to find a driveshaft. Other then that it was a carb clean and points file and it runs.

Yea it stinks that I sold off my parts original.ni found a 1250 for 85 bucks that needs some major attention. But a 12 horse electric clutch original would be neat

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
