Default Transformation of the "O"

Well it's been less than two weeks since I picked up the "O", but things are coming along pretty good. This is when I brought it home two weeks ago on Tuesday.

A few days later I got her running after pulling the head and freeing up the loose valve. De Carbed it and put it back together. This has not run in 12 years until I picked it up, but I'm on it

Started the restoration this weekend.

Removed engine and harness so it is more accessible to work on.

Got the rear plate off and drained it. Gears looked Great!

Had a brain storm and figured it would be easy to work with the unit on my engine stand.

It all worked out perfect.

Now it's all about stripping this down and restoring this 1962 beauty.

Special thanks to my wife for helping me lift this beast on the stand.

That's a very nice cub. Any cracks at the flange where the trans mounts?

Thinking about lifting that whole assembly makes my lower back ache.

Nice work! Looks like a Quietline Vince got a hold of and the aftermath a couple hours later.

All kidding aside, you're doing a great job. I'm with Todd. What's under the car cover?????

You started with a mostly complete or complete cub, which is great news and now you are giving it the attention that it needs and deserves. Great progress--keep the pictures coming!

What's under the cover??

Just another project although there's not much left to do to it.

1973 AMC Ambassador Coupe with 34K miles. She needs a few items to get her to 100%, but for now I'm just preserving her. I'm porting some 401 Heads, building a Posi unit and will get it all together before Spring. She drives like a new car and I took her for a spin yesterday. That's one of the reasons I put the "O" on the engine stand so I could move it around so I could get both the vehicles in and out.

This is the other one I'm working on. I rebuilt the engine last Winter and she runs like a top and still gets 12MPG

Love that Jeep especially! The Ambassador is awesome (and unusual) too!

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
