I'd like to see one of those (in person) being from the north I've only seen a cotton plant once or twice let alone a cotton picking machine.

I are a pretty cool machine! When I worked for CIH, I was in training in Memphis, TN and there were guys there from Louisiana. We were training for hydraulics on the (at the time) new 2388 CIH combines. Well, the hydraulic systems are apparently similar on the cotton pickers. At break, I was talking to those guys. They said the are the biggest mechanical in the world. The fingers that pick the cotton, as I understand, have a lot of moving parts.

I have, in the shed at my house, a cotton picker that IH built on the chassis of a Super H tractor. (It's not mine. Nor is the shed. ) They used to use the tractors as a base to build the cotton pickers on. Apparently, they only built a few on a Super H. I am told it may be one of only perhaps less than 100.
