I ordered the kit from JD, it has a few extra seals just as a heads up. It was just shy of $60. The Deere number was AM107078. Your going to have to pull it apart so you may as well rebuild it. This is a good thing to read before pulling it apart. http://www.mytractorforum.com/showthread.php?t=208848

I too repaired a 2072 with a kit for a JD. That kit cost less than $50.00 bucks and had all the seals needed and as already said had a couple extra seals but it stopped the leak. There may be purists that will only buy genuine cub parts but when one that takes care of the problem is available for about half the price I will take it. I also just bought a rear hydro seal. Cub wanted over $20 and I got the exact same seal from NAPA for just over $6.

I got the same kit from "The Green Parts Store" online, shipped to my door for $45. Looks like it's a little more now. Or if you have a Parker store near you their part number is SK000097.

Parker as in the manufacturer of the hand pump right? ...... That's what I was going to say. Get me the numbers off the pump and I might be able to get a kit. If these are the Parker numbers I'll call my hydraulic supplier!

Jonathan, Oak is correct on the number as it is the same one we used on the 2072. And many others use the same.

Cool! I'll see what my supplier will sell them to me for. If it's a good price I'll list their information and everyone can use them!

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
